Wire Transfer I Rust by Frida Baranek + Lia Siqueira for Arrivals Gate
Wire Transfer I Rust by Frida Baranek + Lia Siqueira for Arrivals Gate
Created by artist Frida Baranek and architect Lia Siqueira for Arrivals Gate, this limited edition shawl has a silk-screen print that is not a derivative of drawings or computer renderings, but images of material insertions and occupations. The relationship to the space is the essence of the 3D thinking of Frida’s and Lia’s creative expression, respectively in Art and Architecture. “Wire Transfer I” imprisoned a fluctuating tension between the wire lines, as if a slight touch could reorganize it, release the movement and redefine their position.
The shawl is hand-made in pure cashmere. It is woven from the ultra-soft and fleecy hair from the chest, neck and under-belly of goats that live in the high altitudes of the Himalayan Mountains. It is very soft and lightweight. It takes days to produce this special shawl and its purchase supports Nepalese communities.
